Two Hours from Anywhere (Murphy, N.C.)

RR. The road race is a tough course due to one steep climb per lap. Despite feeling pretty good for the most part, I fell off the pace on the 2nd of 3 laps and could not catch back on. Jeff and AJ stayed with the field or close to it. I don't know the exact details for AJ, but here is the summary of results from the board:

Cat 4: AJ 14th, Jeff G. 24th, Ryan 29th (40 started)
Cat 5: Matt A. 5th
45+: Rick W. 10th
35+: Andy M.: 6th.

The crit started out a bit too fast for my tired legs (and my general lack of speed work this year). After falling off and getting lapped.... I could not stay on the 2nd go around and pulled out to watch the end of the race at about 25 minutes.

Cat 4: Steve 3rd (1st 35+), Jeff 18th (7th 35+), DNF Ryan

My road season is over now with a few events left on the calender. Hopefully I can pick up some cyclocross in Nov/Dec. (Oct is wrecked for me due to travel).
